"best of" memory card, first half of January 2011

How could I not completely adore these children?

when the family gets together

I know that Christmas is like, so last year but I've been thoroughly enjoying hanging out with my family lately and have been too busy to blog. The irony about trying to capture every moment is that you sometimes forget to live in the moment.
At least I do.
So I've been taking lots of pictures, just not taking the time to blog.
But I still need to document Christmas and catch up on a few other things as well. So this is Christmas (isn't that a song?)

We went a little nuts with the snow. But, hey, it's Christmas.

The kids love their violins, but I can't say they've been practising all that much. Now that they're back in school we've gotten into a better routine. Alex is pretty good about practising when I ask him to, but Lily is resistant. She may not be quite ready. Or the violin may not be for her, but I'm still going to make her play for a while. Hopefully they'll have a real teacher soon.
Alex really loved his science kit and used up all the chemicals in the kit before school started back up. He had lots of fun watching what baking soda and vinegar do in a test tube.
Lily got some dolls for her doll house and some fun art supplies. But her FAVORITE thing was a stuffed horse. This is the 3rd year in a row that the favorite toy has been a stuffed animal. I think we may have an Aunt Katie on our hands here.  And they both got some fun gifts from Grandmas. It was a good day. I get exhausted just thinking about it. It was a big time.
