Pirates aren't supposed to be this cute

Especially when they're caught red handed.
Arrrg. More from our little party later. I just had to post this one.
But I will tease you by revealing that Lily's poop was blue today. What? TMI?? Let's just say black food coloring is hard to find FOR A REASON!!

Day Two: the Streets of Boston

Hello and welcome.

All of my pictures of Mary look like this. Because she is a dream baby.

Here's your creepy Halloween New England graveyard. No matter how much I tried to warm it up it in PS it kept that cool hue...oooooooooo.

This is Ryan. Cindy, make sure he sees this one. This is what you get when you mess around in front of my camera. I will capture it...don't tempt me.

Looking through these pictures has caused me to reflect on how lucky I've been in my life with great friends. Cindy and April...I love you guys! I feel very, very blessed to know you and everyone else I associate with here in St. George and elsewhere. I am truly a fortunate woman to have all of you in my corner.

Thanks again Cindy for a perfect weekend!

New Hampshire...day 1

It has been a flurry of costume making mayhem at my house these last two days, and I've been falling behind in my photography duties. I hope I shall be forgiven of my tardiness as I give you...Girls Weekend 2009, Day 1...

I took many architectural pictures...hope no one minds. There are some amazing old buildings back there. I wish I could tell you more about each one--but I can't.

And oh the colors...

Ain't she a beaut?

Cindy, when you're ready to sell your car, I think this is the picture you should use. It always helps to have an enthusiastic model. (Of course we could have posed you more attractively, had you not been driving away from me at the time. Very funny. I guess that old trick still works 15 years later.)

Could you die? I know.

So amazing. And this was still about a week before things got really colorful.

Cindy was such a great hostess! She prepared scrumptious food every meal, her husband Ryan was so funny and cute (although I don't know if you can use the word "cute" to describe a person with that many guns), and GET THIS...I got my own bedroom with my OWN BED and I had NO CHILDREN IN IT ALL NIGHT!! It really was such a great break for me. Cindy, you are a ROCK STAR...THANK YOU!
I will post more from the next day... I've just barely had a chance to look through them. More of April and Cindy, and WAY more of the babies. :)

10/19/09...right now

Pedicures

The skull and crossbones sweater. As adorable as it is timeless.

Jenga blocks...always perplexing.

(almost) painted nails.

From Angie's Poe Party. These door prizes are possible the best thing I've ever seen. The little action figure has long been commandeered by Alex (who doesn't get it, but somehow in his gut knows it's cool.) I have such cool friends. Thanks Angie!

And as long as I'm on the topic of cool friends, Cindy and April I am working on Boston pictures! Soon all will be revealed!

My house can be a pretty fun place

If you can stay awake long enough to enjoy it.

I love capturing the stuff of life through my lens. The moments that are unposed, authentic and real.

By far my favorite pictures are the ones that reflect how life really happens.

And I want to do it for you.

OK, I know what you're saying.

"My house is a mess."

"My house is too small"

"My husband won't let me shop at Pottery Barn."

But I'd like to promise you that what I want to capture is your life. Not your house.

And I think you will be pleasantly surprised at what we can come up with.

So I'm wondering if anyone out there will be brave enough to start this little experiment with me. I want to spend 2 hours in your home as a photojournalist. Without orchestrating what happens, I will capture your lives as you live it...on your home turf. I can guarantee that in 20 years, these pictures will mean more to you than anything that ever came out of a photo studio.

And here's the thing. Since this is the direction I really want to move in, and since I need some examples for my portfolio, I'm going to give away 2 sessions for free. If you are interested, and I hope you are, leave me a comment and I'll give it to the first 2 interested individuals (in the St. George area, of course.)
They can be outside, inside, jumping on the bed, making cookies, reading, sleeping, watching TV, I don't mind. I promise I can find something to take a picture of.

I always do.

Lily at the farm.

Alex was there too, but the predominance of Lily pictures was just absurd, so I'm telling it like it is. What can I say, she likes the camera.
I told Alex he could take any pumpkin he wanted as long as he could lift it. It took a couple tries, but he eventually found one he was strong enough to lift, yet big enough for his ego.

Cows, husband, and daughter.

I call it...Brickeys.

This is Shelly teaching my kid dangerous stunts.
See?

The cow is peeing. In the interest of full disclosure.

I love how the cow is smiling. It makes me feel like it's a cartoon. Lily is the animal whisperer.

Ah the corn pit. Every year it is a favorite. And every year after the farm as I am taking off their clothes large piles of corn fall out of pockets, backs of shirts, and other crevices.

I know I should just collage these pictures or something but I'm way too lazy. Thank you for bearing with me and the shameless exploitation of my children. I'm sure they will thoroughly appreciate it in about 9 or 10 years.
