I'm pretty rusty on my espanol, but I'm pretty sure that means everybody gets to siesta all day.
Either that or we get to host some kind of comedy smack down. One or the other.

So, I don't know what's wrong with my dog.
Yesterday Alex spilled some bubbles on the concrete, so I was hosing it off so I wouldn't slip and fall on my hiney, when the dog started going NUTS with the hose. This is not unusual for him. He somehow believes he can "catch" the stream of water as it comes out of the hose and kill it, or make friends with it, or force it to play ball with him. We can't decide which it is because, as luck would have it, you can't actually "catch" water in the sense that you can make it bleed. It's just maddening like that. So as he was working himself up into a righteous frenzy over the water, and thus impeding my ability to clean the sidewalk, I just happened to accidentally spray him a few times. Just, you know, to get him out of the way.
Well, turns out I was slowly drowning him. Or as I like to put it, "Mildly" drowning him. Just slightly.
So that just as the soap was beginning to clear, the dog started vomiting. And vomiting. And...well, you get the idea. As soon as I'd get one mess cleaned up, another one would appear. And it turns out Alex is extremely gag sensitive. So in the middle of him laughing at the dogs' unfortunate plight, he also began dry heaving. It was great. I had to yell at him to "STOP LOOKING AT IT! GO IN THE FRONT YARD!" so as to avert yet another vomit-fest. That was yesterday.
Last night Lily started running a really high fever and woke up saying that her ear hurt. So I called her Dr., but at the last minute, after taking Alex to preschool, I ended up running her in to Bloomington Medical just because they take walk-ins and they are super fast, in my experience.
In fact, let me put in a plug for these guys, they are awesome. I've been there enough times now to know that the fact that I got in fast and was treated with respect was not just a fluke. They are consistently very good. So if you're sick and you don't want to go to instacare, try Bloomington Medical. Dr. Haycock is great and it's $65. They don't even accept insurance, they just charge $65, and they make sure you know the cheapest place to fill your prescription. That's it. Love it.
So I came home, watched
this on youtube, and watched my dog throw up again. No es bueno. I think he's fine now, but Lily's been sleeping all morning, and I am therefore proclaiming today a lazy day. Which means we get to lay around, watch TV, read books, and well, let's just say wearing a bra isn't too high up there on my list of priorities.
Hasta luego!
