Alex got a Barnes &Noble gift card for his birthday that only recently resurfaced in the last big room cleaning. I was glad he had it because he is heavily into the Percy Jackson series right now thanks to friend and neighbor Jocelyn. He finished the second book two nights ago and has read the final chapter several times now because it is so exciting.
Even though Jocelyn has kindly offered to lend him the next book, he wants to start buying them. In paperback ( because they're easier to read. ) I'm always happy to have leverage to get him to do chores so that was great too.
On the way home he silently sat next to me and read, save for the occasional funny quote or phrase he wanted to share.
What a fun kid.
