Trying to try

For any who haven't heard, we accepted an offer on our house last week. And as much as I'd love to be dancing in the streets and shouting it to the world, I know that in this market NOTHING is solid. ANd so I'm walking this tightrope that leads away from comfort and happiness, and goes toward the great unknown, all the while teatering over anxiety and possible dissapointment. Because as stellar as their credit is, and however big the down payment, we all know right now that nothing is for sure. We've had a house fall through the day before it was supposed to close before, and that was in the best of times. So neither Jake or I want to start packing, but we know we have to do something if we have a prayer of being out in time.

Aaaaanyway, all of this is to say that I've been a little negligent in keeping up with my kid's lives like I'm supposed to. And so if I wait to post until I have time to sit down and make their pictures pretty, well, then I just won't post, and then I won't remember, and before I know it they'll be fat and balding with children of their own. And so, I give you pictures from the past week. Unedited. Raw. Full of flaws.

We took the kids out last Monday to dig in the hole that will be our basement. We're trying to get the kiddos excited about the move. Not that hard. They think we're moving to a giant dirt pile. I think it's more Jake's way of trying to get me more excited for it.

Sarah had a rad-tastic halloween part-ay at her house last Friday. The kids loved it!This is exactly how Alex looks right before he throws up.

He was nice enough to give Little sister a shot at cleaning out the punpkin.



But this picture represents how that all went down in the end. I love the look on Lily's face.

Alex had specific instruction for how he wanted the mouth to look. I was not understanding, and so he drew it for me so I could get the precise dementions, and what not. I thought it was a pretty clever mouth in the end.

Mom and Dad. Grams and Gramps. Lily kept telling the cat to TURN OVER! And I just happened to catch the cat...turning over. Lily is the cat whisperer.

Alex's pre-school Halloween party was today. Seth made a great Indiana.
